Born on the bicentennial 4th of July in Sikeston, Missouri, Suzy is naturally patriotic. Although relatively new to Milan, she is not new to West Tennessee. In 1994, she graduated from Sikeston High School and moved to Martin where she was a letter winner on the University of Tennessee at Martin rifle team. In 1999, she graduated from the UTM with a bachelor’s degree in Travel and Tourism, which led her to her first post graduate job at Disney World.

From 2001-2014 she worked as a paralegal in downtown Nashville, specializing in criminal and personal injury law. In 2011, she met her husband Nathan, who is originally from Milan. Upon the birth of her children, Robert and Elizabeth, she decided to stay at home with them. In 2016, she moved to Milan with her family to start Escue Wood Treated Products, and to be closer to family.

Upon moving to Milan, she immediately wanted to get involved in her new community. She currently serves on the board at the Christian Learning Center of the First United Methodist Church in Milan. Suzy is passionate about supporting local business and encouraging others to do the same in Milan.

Suzy is dedicated to bringing a positive spirit to all of those around her and is a very caring individual. She always has time for a friend and those she meets for the first time. Although she spends much of her time with her children, she always makes time for others. After being in Milan only two years, she has gotten to know the town pretty well. She could tell you where to shop locally, who the cashiers are at Walmart, or could tell you the best things to do in West Tennessee.

Suzy is very passionate about helping others. Aside from raising her children, her interests include honoring veterans of all branches of the United States military by sending care packages monthly since 9/11. She also is an avid traveler and enjoys trying out new restaurants. Suzy also loves keeping in touch with friends and family, party planning, and finding the perfect gifts for people. Suzy always remembers everyone’s birthday with the perfect card and she loves a good thank you note. She is also a collector of any good paper product, as well as swizzle sticks.

Suzy Escue truly believes that Gibson County’s best days are ahead of and wants to make the world, West Tennessee, and Milan, a better place to live.
